DCI's history
Défense Conseil
International (DCI)'s history has nearly 40 years. The company was created from the merger of four private companies
in 2000, each corresponding to a French armed force component. The purpose of
this creation was to support major armament exportation contracts.
1972- Creation of COFRAS (French specialized assistance company) under state tutorship.
- Support the contract for the supply of three hundred AMX-30 tanks,
- Training on vehicle
implementation, operational use and maintenance.
1980- Creation of NAVFCO (French naval company
for training and consulting).
- Sale by France of
four “Al Madinah“ frigates, two “Boraida” class tankers, and the associated
operational training,
- Mission to ensure the training of Saudi crews.
1984- Creation of AIRCO
- Exportation of Mirage 2000 in different foreign countries,
- Mission of
transition training for foreign personnel within the French Air Force.
1990- Creation of DESCO (at that time “Armament
Services“)
- Mission to gather the teams of the various program control
offices to support armament exportation contracts.
1994- First step of the merger of these four companies with the creation of the holding.
2000- The merging
of the four entities into Défense Conseil International (DCI) takes
place.
2008- Creation of Helidax, the first partnership contract (PPP: Public-Private Partnership).
- Supply the EALAT (International joint centre for helicopter pilots) with the flight hours required.
- Launch of the «Ambition
2012" plan: become the reference operator for the transfer of military know-how in France
and abroad.
- Set up of five offices abroad (Saudi
Arabia, United Arab
Emirates, Kuwait,Qatar and Sinapore), enabling enhanced proximity to its customers.
2012- Creation of NavOcean to answer the growth of in at-sea
training requests.
- The Almak will be delivered in autumn 2013.
2013- New 2013-2017 business plan
- Propose a general service offers focused on the capacity approach.
