COFRAS and air land forces: Use helicopters to optimize land combats!

For more than thirty years, COFRAS has been deeply involved in helicopter service activities.  In close coordination with the ALAT (French army light aircraft corps), COFRAS contributes to sharing the French military approach to airmobile combat on an international scale. Not only can COFRAS coach new users in optimizing and accelerating the operational commissioning of their new helicopters, but COFRAS can also accompany them throughout their service life, in coordination with industrialists.

COFRAS has regularly and sustainably deployed air land experts in several Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries, in missions of:

• technical support to helicopter fleets,
• ab initio and tactical training of operational crews.

All the courses are based on ALAT's know-how, that is to say:

• Training of combat pilots (ab initio pilots, operational complement of type qualifications, nap-of-the-earth flight, night flight with NVG, in mountains, etc.), instructors and mechanics;
• Flight and combat simulator;
• Fleet employment, creation of new units and training centers;
• Maintenance and operational use of French equipment such as attack, tactical transport and training helicopters;
• Provision of services to forces by outsourcing some of their functions (Helidax, etc.).
